Commemorating the 330th anniveersary of the Battle of Killiecrankie, when a Scottish Government Army was defeated by a Jacobite force almost half its size. There will be displays from the period, showing how they would have lived to Red Coat and Jacobite skirmishes. Entry is free. NTS Car Park charge of £2 helps go towards the upkeep costs of running the centre.

On Friday there are Horse and Pony classes for children of all ages – from 4 to 64! The fun begins at 9.00am with the slightly more serious show classes, then the working hunter classes and after lunch time, the fancy dress on horseback and rounding off the day with the mounted games.
Saturday morning is when the farmers in the area take the opportunity to compete against each other for the championships in the Sheep and Cattle sections which begin at 9.00am. This is also when the judging of Highland Ponies and Clydesdale Horses begins. From 11.00am you can watch the local Highland Dancers, Heavyweight Athletes and see the display of Vintage Tractors. On the Saturday Afternoon there is a full programme of Highland Games which begins with the arrival of the Pipe Band who will march from the Square in Aberfeldy, over the historic Wade’s Bridge and into Wade’s Park. During the afternoon you will be treated to Open Highland Dancing competitions , Piping competitions, the Hill Race, Wrestling, Tug o’War, Terrier R ing, and the carrying of the Menzies Stone. There is somewhere to sit down, have a blether, enjoy a mug of coffee or tea, and a hot pie locally made by MacDonalds, and listen to some live fiddle music, and even nice loos!
