From Val McDermid, Scotland’s Queen of crime fiction, to Cameron McNeish, on BBC Two’s The Adventure Show, Sally Magnusson, Graeme Obree, the Flying Scotsman, Paul Murton, one of Scotland’s best-known TV presenters, will whirl around the history, mythology and extraordinary beauty of the Hebrides. Michael Marra, a special celebration of his life performed by daughter Alice. Storytelling for 18 months to 5 years, and a creative writing workshop for 9-12 year olds. A short (500 word) story competition for 9 to 16 year olds. Workshops for adults – budding writers and performers. The inaugural Pitlochry Festival Theatre 10-minute Short Play Award for Scottish based playwrights, with the top three plays being performed during Winter Words Festival by professional actors.
